can you spot the christian?

i am so tired of the pseudo-christians spewing hatred and bigotry in the name of their god. here's a little exercise: Smile

i received an e-mail from a friend and decided to post it in part. then i copied and pasted from a local christian blogger. although both claim to be christian, can you tell the difference between the sincere and the senile? Undecided

1.  "I've read some of your posts lately Randy, and I don't like the attacks and Bible/Brow beating that bloggers have sent your way.  Please read what I have written below.  I was going to put it in as a blog-but I don't think God gave it to me as a blog-I think He gave it to me for YOU and a few other friends!!!!..." Innocent

(the rest of the e-mail is personal and may identify the writer so i have opted to cut it).

2.  "FILTHY, DISGUSTING, & REPULSIVE"...!

One liking dancing, flying, jogging as opposed to TV, swimming, drinking..ARE "ALTERNATIVE

LIFESTYLES"... having sex with the same sex, A animal, the dead....is "SICK"...!" Surprised

i am glad that at least he can recognize preferring to fly than swim is an alternative. being born gay or straight is not.  he still can't identify what is a crime and what is not. in my opinion, i sincerely hope that people like the resident blogging christians do not have children or grandchildren that were born gay. i am certain the hatred and bigotry will be taught to them and if they can't get to resources with sense, sadly, their only option may be suicide.

  • It is not a question of what works for me it is what works for Jesus and that don't work. But you should never

change because of people say to change , you should change if God tells you to change, because it is by His

    grace we are saved.

  • Here we go again It is so easy to tell others of how your life is or should be. The biggest mistake we can make is to think others don't have a life, and sometimes it is a lot different then ours.. Who are we to judge another man/woman. From what I've read so far on this site most can barley take care of themselves. we all have our Illusions as to what is right and wrong, but I think we all need to get our own house in order, before we throw stones at someones Else's. happy holidays to all, and to all a good night.. Just1mans opinion.

  • hook, thump away, but i am still gay and that ain't likely to change.

    propaganda: thanx

cliffr: if one man - one woman works for you, good. it doesn't work for me and there is no need for me and others like me to keep that in a closet. we must learn to co-exist. it should be ok for both of us to hold hands in the park.

it is not acceptance from you for myself i desire, but if anyone in your life might be gay, i'm trying to give them a head start.

(head start - don't even think about making fun of that comment)

  • Okay, out of every scripture you decided to quote, I didn't see anything there that said you have the right to judge others because you don't agree with them.

The point being, Randy is a grown man and responsible for his own actions and nobody has the right to continually attack him in the name of God.

I don't know for sure but after reading his posts now for the past couple of years, I'm pretty sure that Randy is comfortable in his life and spiritualness and doesn't need every person with a bible and keyboard trying to be his savior like he is some pet project.

  • but it is and scripture proves it.

    • 20.

    • For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

    • 21.

    • For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

    • 22.

    • Professing to be wise, they became fools,

    • 23.

    • and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

    • 24.

    • Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.

    • 25.

    • For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

    • 26.

    • For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions ; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural ,

    • 27.

    • and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

    • 28.

    • And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,

    • 29.

    • being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil ; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice ; they are gossips,

    • 30.

    • slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,

    • 31.

    • without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful ;

    • 32.

    • and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.
